William J. Brennan
Joint Managing Partner - BComm, DLS, Solicitor
William Brennan qualified in 2001 having trained in Binchys solicitors and worked there until it was taken over in 2005 by Maples and Calder where he continued to work until 2007.
William established the firm in 2007 and joined forces with Hugh McGroddy in 2008. Hugh and William are joint managing partners of the firm since 2008.
William practices in the area of property, social housing, commercial and corporate as well as overseeing litigation cases. He is also actively involved in the day to day running of the firm to include financial, HR, marketing and business development.

Hugh McGroddy
Joint Managing Partner, Solicitor (admitted: 1989)
Hugh is joint managing partner. He was formerly a partner in Binchys and also Maples and Calder Solicitors where he was head of the property department.
Hugh has extensive experience in all areas of commercial property including acquisitions and disposals, property investment transactions, joint ventures, development, construction, property tax, planning and all aspects of property finance.
Hugh has acted for financial institutions, property developers, corporate and private clients, and also oversees a substantial probate practice team within the firm. He assists in the management of the firm with a focus on firm finances, human resources and business development.
Hugh is also a Notary Public.

Marie-Clare Morrissey
Solicitor
Marie-Clare is a senior litigation Solicitor in our Merrion Street Office.
Her primary areas of practice are
- Commercial and Contractual Disputes
- Property disputes
- Licensing
- Medical Negligence and Personal Injury (to include employers liability claims).
- Employment and Private Client
Marie-Clare is also a qualified mediator and notary public.

Daniel McLaughlin
Solicitor
Solicitor – Litigation and Property
Daniel has acquired a broad range of experience in private practice over a 20 year period with a particular focus on personal injuries, dispute resolution and property related matters.
Daniel heads up our Litigation Department in the Ashbourne branch pf the practice. He is passionate about advocating on behalf of his wide client base in the fields of litigation and dispute resolution. He has expertise in all aspects of property related law and was employed in medium sized firms in Dublin and the North East prior to joining McGroddy Brennan in August 2014.
Daniel has a senior role within the Ashbourne branch of the practice. He acts for both corporate and private clients in property matters and private clients in personal injuries and dispute resolution.
Daniel is an Accredited Mediator with the Mediation Institute of Ireland.

David Lane
Solicitor
David works in the Property Department. He has for the last seventeen years specialised in all matters property related and acts for many of the country’s top developers, property companies and banks.
David’s areas of expertise include advising on:

Gerry O’Hanlon
Solicitor
Gerard has been with the firm for 7 years.
An experienced and focused solicitor, with 30 years in private practice, Gerard specializes in commercial property, banking, construction, and corporate transactional support.
Gerard has a proven track record in the delivery of legal excellence across a range of disciplines in a practical, timely, and commercial manner.

Christina McGowan
Solicitor
Christina joined the firm in June 2015 and has over twenty years’ experience as a property solicitior.
Christina has extensive experience advising on all aspects of commercial and residential real estate law, including acquisitions and disposals, lettings and scheme development and advising both private and corporate clients in connection with a variety of commercial and residential property transactions.

Hannah Weeg
Solicitor
Hannah Weeg qualified as an attorney in the U.S. in 2018. She worked in the States until 2019 in employment law, workers’ compensation and personal injury.
In the spring of 2019, McGroddy Brennan Solicitors welcomed Hannah to the firm. She is now a Legal Executive, and assists partner Hugh McGroddy in the conveyancing department and where otherwise needed such as probate.

Laura Rock
Solicitor
Laura has been with the firm over 3 years having completed her training Laura was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in December 2020. Laura has gained a large amount of experience in general practice, ranging from residential and commercial Conveyancing, Family Law disputes to Probate matters.
Laura also has experience in litigating matters, specialising in understanding the operations of management companies within managed developments.
Laura acts for a number of local sporting bodies advising on governance, funding, licences and acquisition of land.

Louise Higgins
Trainee Solicitor
Louise has been with the firm for 2 years and is studying to become a Solicitor.
Louise has worked with McGroddy Brennan for two years and has completed the first part of the Professional Course at the Law Society.
She trains under firm partner Hugh McGroddy in the Merrion Office and focuses on the areas of conveyancing and probate.
Louise will be qualified in late 2021 as a solicitor.

Jessie Rock
Legal Executive
Jessie joined our firm in 2015. She started out on work experience with us and eventually became a permanent member of staff.
She started out as a Legal Secretary helping out the Solicitors in our firm dealing mainly with Litigation and Conveyancing and any other matters that her help was required.
She has now moved on up in the firm and is now a Legal Executive primarily in Conveyancing such as, Selling properties, Remortgaging Properties or Purchasing properties.
Jessie always tries to meet with client’s requirement and assists them as much as possible. Jessie always works in a good professional manner.

Linda Cunningham
Legal Executive
Linda has been employed with McGroddy Brennan since January 2019. She joined our firm as a Legal Executive in our Ashbourne Office working primarily in Conveyancing.
Linda is responsible for Stamping of documents; Liaising with the Revenue Commissioners, registration of title and dealing with queries arising with the Property Registration Authority and conveyancing file queries in general.

Umme Nawsheen Mahamedally
Legal Executive
Nawsheen has been with the firm for 4 years and works primarily with the Conveyancing Teams as a legal executive.
She works on registrations, stamping, assisting with conveyancing files both purchases and sale.
Nawsheen also often assists in the marketing and business development initiatives undertaken within the firm.

Sorcha Dowling
Legal Executive
Sorcha Dowling is a Legal Executive working in the areas of Conveyancing, Litigation, Probate and Debt Collection. She graduated from Maynooth University in 2016 with a BCL in International Law, and from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2020 with an LLM in International Human Rights.
Sorcha joined the firm in 2021, where she hopes to further her legal career and hone her legal research skills. Her human rights background means she always strives for fair and equitable solutions for all.

Shivam Goenka
Accounts Manager
Shivam joined us in 2020 as Accounts Manager and has recently graduated with a Master’s Degree in International Accounting and Finance from Dublin Business School.
As a Qualified Chartered Accountant, Shivam has worked for a Chartered Accountant firm in India bringing over 6+ years’ experience in the field of Accountancy, Auditing and Taxation.
Shivam is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Ireland and is studying further towards CTA Ireland.

Lisa Clarke
Receptionist Administrator
Lisa has worked with the firm now for 2 years. Lisa works at the front desk in greeting clients and visitors and answering incoming calls and emails.
Lisa is often the first person with whom clients and visitors interact with. Lisa also works side to side with the solicitors in helping with administration and secretarial work, she will play a role in most areas covered in the practice such as Conveyancing and Litigation.

Caroline Casserly
Caroline originally worked for a year in the Ashbourne Community Initiative (which the firm is partnered with in it's community work) before she joined the firm full time in 2019.
Caroline undertakes reception and administration as well as accounting duties and also assists solicitors in progressing litigation and conveyancing files.
