William Brennan qualified in 2001 having trained in Binchys solicitors and worked there until it was taken over in 2005 by Maples and Calder where he continued to work until 2007.

William established the firm in 2007 and joined forces with Hugh McGroddy in 2008. Hugh and William are joint managing partners of  the firm since 2008.

William practices in the area of property, social housing, commercial and corporate as well as overseeing litigation cases. He is also actively involved in the day to day running of the firm to include financial, HR, marketing and business development.

Hugh is joint managing partner. He was formerly a partner in Binchys and also Maples and Calder Solicitors where he was head of the property department.

Hugh has extensive experience in all areas of commercial property including acquisitions and disposals, property investment transactions, joint ventures, development, construction, property tax, planning and all aspects of property finance.

Hugh has acted for financial institutions, property developers, corporate and private clients, and also oversees a substantial probate practice team within the firm. He assists in the management of the firm with a focus on firm finances, human resources and business development.

Hugh is also a Notary Public.

Marie-Clare is a senior litigation Solicitor in our Merrion Street Office. 

Her primary areas of practice are 

• Commercial and Contractual Disputes
• Property disputes 
• Licensing
• Medical Negligence and Personal Injury (to include employers liability claims).
• Employment and Private Client

Marie-Clare is also a qualified mediator and notary public. 
 

Solicitor – Litigation and Property

Daniel has acquired a broad range of experience in private practice over a 20 year period with a particular focus on personal injuries, dispute resolution and property related matters.

Daniel heads up our Litigation Department in the Ashbourne branch of the practice. He is passionate about advocating on behalf of his wide client base in the fields of litigation and dispute resolution.  He has expertise in all aspects of property related law and was employed in medium sized firms in Dublin and the North East prior to joining McGroddy Brennan in August 2014.  

Daniel has a senior role within the Ashbourne branch of the practice. He acts for both corporate and private clients in property matters and private clients in personal injuries and dispute resolution.

Daniel is an Accredited Mediator with the Mediation Institute of Ireland.
 

Gerard has been with the firm for 7 years.

An experienced and focused solicitor, with 30 years in private practice, Gerard specializes in commercial property, banking, construction, and corporate transactional support.

Gerard has a proven track record in the delivery of legal excellence across a range of disciplines in a practical, timely, and commercial manner.
 

Donal O’Kelly is a general practitioner.

Donal qualified in Trinity term 1979. He has a B.C.L. degree from the National University, U.C.D, and a Diploma in European Law. He is a Commissioner for Oaths. He currently serves as a member of the LSRA Review Committee and an Investigating Officer under the Garda Siochana Regulation 2007 as amended.

Jessie joined our firm in 2015. She started out on work experience with us and eventually became a permanent member of staff.

She started out as a Legal Secretary helping out the Solicitors in our firm dealing mainly with Litigation and Conveyancing and any other matters that her help was required. 

She has now moved on up in the firm and is now a Legal Executive primarily in Conveyancing such as, Selling properties, Remortgaging Properties or Purchasing properties. 

Jessie always tries to meet with client’s requirement and assists them as much as possible. Jessie always works in a good professional manner.

With a robust career spanning since 2017, Nawsheen has established a reputation as a dedicated Legal Executive in the firm, specialising in Conveyancing, Family Law, Litigation, Debt Recovery, and Probate. Nawsheen brings a wealth of experience and a client-focused approach to the practice.

Nawsheen holds a Diploma in Legal Studies and Practice, an LLB Hons Degree, and a Master's LLM in International Law from the prestigious Griffith College. These academic accomplishments have equipped Nawsheen with a deep understanding of both national and international legal frameworks, enhancing the ability to navigate complex legal challenges with precision and insight.

Adding to her professional expertise, Nawsheen is multilingual, fluent in English, French, Mauritian Creole, Urdu, and Hindi. This linguistic diversity is particularly beneficial for assisting clients who face communication challenges in English, ensuring they receive clear, comprehensive, and empathetic legal support.

Sorcha Dowling is a Legal Executive working in the areas of Conveyancing, Litigation, Probate and Debt Collection. She graduated from Maynooth University in 2016 with a BCL in International Law, and from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2020 with an LLM in International Human Rights. 

Sorcha joined the firm in 2021, where she hopes to further her legal career and hone her legal research skills. Her human rights background means she always strives for fair and equitable solutions for all. 
 

Lisa has worked with the firm for 8 years. Lisa works in the areas of conveyancing and assisting with litigation matters.

Lisa is often the first person with whom clients and visitors interact with. Lisa also works side to side with the solicitors in helping with administration and secretarial work, she will play a role in most areas covered in the practice.

Caroline became part of the McGroddy Brennan team in 2019, starting in an administrative role before moving into Accounts. She now looks after the firm’s financial transactions and keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Day-to-day, she works closely with fee earners on client payments, manages billing support, and makes sure our financial records are kept in order. Caroline also handles VAT returns, PAYE payments, and payroll, as well as overseeing petty cash and office budgets.

Danielle is a Legal Executive with over 7 years’ experience working in the Legal sector. She has been with our firm since 2025 and graduated with a BA in Communication Studies and Media Production with DCU, where she was introduced to Contract Law.

Danielle works in the areas of Personal Injury, Litigation, Conveyancing, Debt Collection and has great interest and experience in the area of Family Law. 

Adelina Zsigalov is a legal secretary at McGroddy Brennan LLP Solicitors dealing with our client’s calls and appointments, correspondence, e-mails and so much more.

Adelina graduated pre-university Law in Dunboyne College of Further Education and at the moment she is studying Law and Media BAJL Joint Honours at DCU University Campus striving to become a solicitor/barrister in her future career.

Adelina has worked with us for the last 2 years and is looking forward to developing her legal skills and career in this company.

Siara Sajani Degambadage is an Accounts Executive working in the accounting and finance section, handling client accounts and other accounting and finance-related tasks.

She is a professional Chartered Accountant, who graduated from Dublin Technological University in 2025  with a Master's in Finance.

Siara joined the firm in 2024 and she has over five years of extensive experience in accounting, financial analytics, auditing, taxation, and technical competency in the private and public sectors.
